Installing a skill

1. Unzip it

Every purchase arrives as a ZIP. Unzip it into your skills directory. Personal skills live in your home directory and are available in every project:

unzip skill-name.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

To scope a skill to one project instead, unzip it into that project's own skills directory.

2. Check it loaded

Start a new session in the project and ask Claude what skills are available. A skill is only picked up at the start of a session, so an already-running one will not see it.

3. Keep your key

Your licence key arrives in the same email. It isn't copy protection and nothing on your machine checks it: it identifies you for support and for updates. Keep it where you can find it.

Troubleshooting

Claude never uses the skill

Almost always the skill isn't where Claude looks. Check the folder sits directly under your skills directory and contains SKILL.md at its top level, not nested inside a second folder from the unzip.

The download link is dead

Links expire after about 15 minutes. Open the receipt email and download again. Your purchase doesn't expire, only the link does.

A script in the skill fails immediately

Run the preflight the skill ships with. It names every missing tool at once rather than failing on one at a time. The requirements are also listed on the product page.

I lost my licence key

It's in your receipt email and in your account on the payment portal. Quote it when you contact support.
